The Relationship between the Caries Activity Test (Snyder) and Salivary IgA Level by T. ALACAM*,
نویسنده
چکیده
In this study, the relationship between the results of the caries activity test (Snyder) and salivary IgA level were investigated statistically. There was no significant difference between caries-resistant and slightly cariesactive groups (p>0.05), although there were significant differences between moderately active and slightly active and between moderately active and caries-resistant groups at the level of p<0.05. There were statistical relationships between caries-active and moderately active groups, moderately active and slightly active groups, and between slightly active or caries-active and caries-resistant groups at the level of p<0.01.

Comparison of Salivary Secretory IgA in Caries-free Children and Children with Severe Early Childhood Caries
Background & Aims: Sever early childhood caries (SECC) is a multifactor common disease that unfortunately there have been a lot of unknown points about it. This study was performed to compare the levels of total S-IgA in children with and without SECC. Methods: In this cross-sectional study 44 children aged 6-24 months were divided into two groups of with SECC (n=20) and without SECC (n=24). Th...

Re-garding the fact that albumin is an indicator of general health, the aim of the present study was to evaluate the relationship of salivary albumin concentration with dental caries. Materials & Methods: In thi...
متن کاملSalivary protein characteristics from saliva of carious lesionfree and high caries adults.
It has been argued that specific salivary proteins could have a protective effect against caries, but data from the many available studies are rather contradictory. The purpose of this study was to analyze whether there is a relationship between protein concentration, electrophoretic profile and concentration of salivary IgA and the presence or absence of caries in adults. Adults with high cari...
متن کاملCorrelation of Oral Health Status and Salivary Antioxidant Capacity in Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus
Objective: Dental caries is considered as one of the major complication of diabetes mellitus. Patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) demonstrate evidence of oxidant–antioxidant imbalances in their biological fluids such as saliva. The aim of this study was to evaluate the correlation of oral health status and salivary total antioxidant capacity (TAC) in T2DM. Materials and Methods...
